‘Consumer rights campaigner Chris Emmins said the consequences of restaurants having poor food hygiene can be “terrifying”.
He pointed to Swindon takeaway Zeera, which was so filthy “lives could have been lost”, a judge said in May.
Mr Emmins, who founded reputation management firm KwikChex, thinks Just Eat “most definitely” should display food hygiene ratings.
“Transparency and ensuring no harm should come to consumers are fundamental to the running of any caring business that wishes to demonstrate high ethical standards,” he added.
“Food hygiene failures unquestionably put consumers at risk – and that risk can be of a very serious nature.”
